Continue to repeat until all traces of wax are gone. 3. Grease Stains Mix up a solution of 50% water and 50% ammonia then add a couple of drops of liquid dish soap. Spray area with solution then use a shop vacuum to suck up moisture. Repeat until stain is completely gone. 4. Nail Polish Removing nail polish can be a little tricky as its easy to smear and actually make worse. Start with some nail polish remover. Test in a hidden spot to ensure it does not lift the dye in the carpet. Non acetone and non fragrant removers are best. Take some paper towel and soak with nail polish remover then blot the area until the color transfers from the carpet to the paper towel....
